Eco Table Top Dishwasher Overview:

We investigated a range of eco table dishwashers to try and determine which is the best on the market. However first it is important to understand what Eco really means. 

Eco Dishwashers Generally 

Most Dishwashers claim to be Eco but how Eco are they? Some offer low temperature wash cycles, others offer low water consumption but none we could find would offer us both. This is a great shame, as this would make it truly an Eco Dishwasher.

The real deal here is that all dishwashers however efficient use chemicals to help clean our dishes. This water is then carried away from our homes into our rivers, and can cause pollution. Its not that this maybe treated water, our fear is, is that it is only very quantities add up, and is potentially damaging our environment.

We have no evidence to suggest that this is happening, but from a consumer perspective it is alarming to see how strong the chemicals are which we use every day to clean our dishes even using a dishwasher! 

There are Eco dishwasher liquids and gels on the market, however these are no widely available in our supermarkets. Only through demanding these new products will we get a mass switch over to Eco dishwasher liquids and Eco dishwasher finishing agents.  

Eco Tabletop Dishwashers 

Taking into account the larger machines, and how they lack being true Eco Dishwashers, it is clear that tabletops receive less research and development and thus are further behind in this respect.

These Eco Tabletop Dishwashers maybe small and compact compared to the largers machines but water consumption and power consumption per place setting they are no better, and in some models positively not Eco at all! 

Our Recommendation for buying a Eco Tabletop Dishwasher

We would recommend that you study the specifications hard when you have selected a few Eco Tabletop dishwashers you like. Then list out their specifications (All Eco Tabletop Dishwashers should be AAA rated) and choose which per place setting is the most efficient.
